Security Measures

Hi All,
Due to recent theivery where I must leave my kit, I have been forced to consider some security measures. What are some security measures that you all have taken to protect your investment? I would value excessive to minimal and everything in between. Thanks all.

You weren't the cat in the other forum asking about protecting your kit at a gig site were you?

Your only protection IMO is insurance. Your stuff is never safe, even in your house unfortunately....

The Musician's Union has insurance programs available.

AFAIK, Renter's insurance will cover instruments. Homeowners will not. Just call your insurance company and explain what you need.

Thanks Pocket and Derek for your responses. For Pocket, I have never had anything stolen. I would feel really horrid (UNDERSTATEMENT!) if that happened. No, a bass amp and a few smaller items were taken. Before this happened, our guys had not had any problems in recent times.
For Derek, I would ask if there is a company that insures instruments or by insurance, do you mean putting your kit under your home owners insurance?
